I am a technology executive, former startup CTO and hands-on architect with a background spanning media platforms, distributed systems, cloud and edge infrastructure, search, security and production operations.
My work sits between technology strategy and implementation: defining architecture, building engineering teams and operating models, making infrastructure investment decisions, improving reliability and cost efficiency, and translating product and business requirements into scalable systems.
I currently lead Cloud and Edge engineering streams in a venture-backed energy technology startup, working on resilient, security-sensitive infrastructure for real-time power-grid systems.
Selected Impact
- Built the initial technology platform for an angel-backed media startup and scaled it to 750k+ monthly active users , 100k+ videos and 35+ distributed production systems .
- Sustained 99.98% production availability while introducing observability, automated recovery, caching and horizontal scaling practices.
- Designed and executed a hybrid bare-metal and IaaS strategy that reduced projected infrastructure costs at scale by approximately 60% while preserving resilience and scalability.
- Defined and led the evolution from monolithic services toward distributed microservices , supported by Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and repeatable deployment practices.
- Led search architecture from SQL full-text search and Solr toward a custom distributed reverse-index system using Python and in-memory indexing, enabling business-specific ranking and content-discovery logic.
- Architected multimedia workflows spanning video and image processing , object storage and content delivery, including mood-based content-selection capabilities.
- Led two engineering teams plus external contributors across hiring, mentoring, planning, delivery, architecture and technical standards.
- Introduced an ownership-based bi-weekly delivery model that increased sprint completion from approximately 70% to 85%+ .
- Established security, monitoring, business-continuity and incident-response practices that enabled security events to be contained and remediated within approximately 1–2 hours .
- Worked directly with CEOs, COOs, founders, investors and partners across technology strategy, platform decisions, fundraising discussions and external representation.
How I Work
- Architecture before implementation. Understand requirements, constraints, failure boundaries and economics before choosing technologies.
- Security by design. Security, resilience and observability are architectural properties, not post-release additions.
- Ownership over micromanagement. Teams perform best when responsibilities, standards and outcomes are explicit while execution remains autonomous.
- Measure delivery, not activity. Engineering effectiveness is reflected in outcomes, reliability, quality and business impact rather than hours or ceremony.
